Check out these amazing visuals from our first work-in-progress session presented at @iseainternational in collaboration with @abstracthumanradio . This session used the’ Human Theremin’ AI-driven technology to create live visuals tracking our bodies and sound effects which were manipulated through the movement of our violinist, Deanna. More to come soon!

For now, you can check out our second work-in-progress session THIS SUNDAY. Session two will explore using AI technologies to create soundscapes and compositions, which our musicians will respond to live.

We’ve been working away behind the scenes on a new DeepBlue show exploring AI and creativity! …and now it’s time for you to get involved! ✨

As part of our creative development process, we are testing and showing three concepts over the coming months involving musicians and generative AI.

Our first showing is THIS THURSDAY NIGHT presented as part of @iseainternational !

We’ve collaborated with @finwegener for a mesmerising performance using his Human Theremin and exploring live AI body visualisations and manipulation of sound through movement with instruments.

Introducing the talented multi-instrumentalist, Toukie, who plays both violin and viola in DeepBlue amongst other things! Toukie will be running the technology integration workshops alongside our guest specialist Craig Parry at the upcoming AutumnSchool. With a background in composition, Toukie enjoys working with our students to create new and exciting technology-driven pieces throughout the workshops. We can’t wait to see what they come up with next week!

Meet DeepBlue violinist, Heather, who’ll be one of our teachers at the upcoming YoungBlue AutumnSchool. A person of a diverse range of interests, Heather was a member of Neon Pulse, St Peters’ own electric string ensemble, before joining their “big brother” ensemble DeepBlue! Alongside DeepBlue, Neon Pulse will perform with and mentor at the AutumnSchool. SeasonalSchools encompasses both the SummerSchool and WinterSchool programs, which have inspired young musicians for 10 years! And who knows, under the banner of SeasonalSchools, maybe soon we will have Autumn and Spring schools!

Our unique education revolution, YoungBlue, has also had a makeover!

If you don't already know, YoungBlue is our initiative which started in 2008, with a vision to provide young musicians from major cities and rural towns an opportunity to learn and play with DeepBlue as we toured around the country for the first time!

We invited local musicians (YoungBlues) from each destination to engage in workshops before joining us on stage for a song to show off their new skills. DeepBlue have now conducted these workshops for thousands of young musicians across Australia, the United States and Asia.

One of our all-time favourite writers and reviewers, Gillian Wills is launching her novel, Big Music on Thurs Oct 24 at Books@Stones in Stones Corner. Gillian's book is a pacy, character-driven story about fine-tuning a music institution which is like playing a cracked violin with broken strings.
