ROBOTRONICA FINALE

August 16, 2015

Queensland University of Technology, Gardens Point

One of DeepBlues Largest collaborations to date was the 2015 Robotronica Finale: DeepBlue and the Perff bots. This show involved over 100 creatives to design, present and perform in this epic collaboration which premiered for over 20,000 at QUT's Robotronica 2015

The closing performance for Robotronica featured a plethora of talent including the human orchestra DeepBlue and over 40 jumping, rolling, swinging, clapping, lit up and transforming robots designed by students of Queensland University of Technology (QUT)! This ground-breaking art and sciences collaboration between QUT's Faculties of Science & Engineering and Creative Industries was developed over a year with a behemoth of Brisbane’s emerging producers, musicians, dancers, composers, animators, designers, technicians and robots! The performance tells a fantasy story of the evolution of humans and their machines and was co-directed by Andy Arthurs, Jonathan Roberts and Jared Donovan.Comedian and circus star Marianna Joslin also starred in the production, taking to the trapeze in partnership with one of the robots dubbed "Acro-bot", and challenging the narrative and evolution of what is human and what is machine within our interactions with one another.
